Admission

Acceptance criteria for Hope House are the same for everyone without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, age, sex, or ability. However, Hope House is not for people in need of emergency medical care or for those who are likely to harm themselves or others.

Whenever possible, arrangements for admission should be made in advance by contacting Hope House. A potential client may call us directly or a physician, family member, friend or substance abuse counsellor may make the first contact. When we cannot accept an applicant - either because our programs are not appropriate for his or her situation or because we don't have space at that time - we will do our best to refer that person for assistance elsewhere.

Requirements for Admission

Hope House clients must:

  • be at least 18 years old
  • provide a legal background report
  • provide a health history
  • provide an alcohol/drug history (Rule 25 assessment)
  • complete an admission interview
    • This interview may include family members or individuals who have worked with the applicant in the past.

Admission Process
Most admissions are scheduled for week days between 8 am and 2 pm. We consider emergency admissions on a case-by-case basis.

Treatment Costs
Costs for treatment vary depending on treatment duration and payment source. The Hope House staff members meet with prospective clients to determine payment options. Financial assistance is available for those who are eligible.
